Soroa

At 90 kilometres from Pinard el Rio, Soroa is a small haven of peace located in the middle of a luxuriant vegetation. Its uneven relief and its magnificent waterfalls invite you to take walks of a rare freshness in Cuba. The park has been declared a biosphere heritage site by UNESCO. 
The orchid garden (orquideario): Designed by Tomas Felipe Camacho and always maintained, this garden would concentrate between 500 and a thousand species of orchids! Visits are from 09h to 16h30. The species bloom from November onwards, so the next three months are the most interesting. 
The waterfall: Below Soroa, this enchanted place (20 meters waterfall) offers magnificent rainbows. Departure from the restaurant El salto, 30 minutes walk, paying access. 
 The mirador: Stroll on the wild ridges bordering Soroa. In summer, the hills take on a crimson colour. At the start of the journey, you can turn left towards the sulphurous water swimming pool, renowned for its therapeutic virtues.

Las Terrazas has been classified as a World Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO since 1985.
Here there are many hiking trails to discover the fauna and flora. The Baños de San Juan are a succession of natural swimming pools on the Rio San Juan, where you can swim. The Rancho Curujey and the Lago Palmar is a relaxing place to have a drink. To eat, the best place is the Casa del Campesino; copious, delicious and charming place.
