Although the Province of Pinar del Rio does not hold a big place in tourist guides, it is still attractive for those who love tranquility, sumptuous landscapes, authenticity and contact. It is an essentially agricultural region and especially the cultivation of tobacco in the Vueltabajo (Tobacco Triangle).
The "guajiros" (Cuban peasants), numerous in this province, are affable, welcoming people, ready to open their doors to you. Certainly, the tourists are there. Especially in Vinales (included in all tour operator circuits), where they disembark by whole buses.
These precisions being made, here are some indications on other points of interest.
First of all the city of Pinar del Rio, about 150,000 inhabitants, it is the capital of the province. It is a not very touristy city where you can stay and from where you can gravitate to many points of interest such as:
